Biking@Stanley Park

Thank God it's Friday. You have no idea how relieved I am the week is over. School is seriously taking a toll on me. And I've barely begun. This post is a week late. Bear with me. I need to get away from the Biology and The Da Vinci Code. And speaking of which, I had no idea they are such extremists who feel that this fictional book is the "book from Hell". Don't even let me begin. I think I had enough people tell me their "thoughts" about this book. Get over it! It's fiction. There is a major difference between FACT and FICTION. And it's a book I'm studying in school. SO what? Anyway... I think I let off enough to make you all understand what I've been having to put through anytime I pull out that book. Sheeeshh...

So Stanley Park... I've walked halfway through it most of the time after my volunteering at VanAqua but this time, I decided to cycle around it... TWICE. It ain't that long if you cycle. But it's a helluva walk. So after I chose my mountain bike from one of the OVERpriced stores along the road, (it cost me $30 to ride for ALMOST 3 hours - hence the reason why I've been bike-hunting on craigslist) my dad and I started off HERE...
Just off the marina where all the boats are docked. Looks serene, doesn't it? It's funny when just an hour away, there are always shootings going on in Surrey.
Lots of people out that Saturday. The sunniest day of that week. Lots of cyclists. Lots of rollerbladers. Lots of kids running out of nowhere without warning. It can be dangerous I tell you....
And so, downtown is just opposite us now.

This is the Lion's Gate Bridge that connects downtown Vancouver to North Vancouver and West Vancouver and on to Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain (I think).
Other than humans, the birds were out enjoying the sun too. There's a seagull (who's been around wayyyy longer than me) at Vanaqua that knows all the times the dolphins and belugas get fed, so it too has strategically planned to drop by Vanaqua everyday at those times as well. We call him Steven. Steven Seagull. Get it? Hahaha...

No, aliens did not come and stack rocks by the beach. To tell you truth, I don't know who did this. A lot of people just stopped by here and started taking pictures (of course I am one of them - clicky de click)
Don't you think it's cool? The rocks has to be arranged at a certain point for them all to stay that way... according to some law of physics my dad was trying to explain to me which apparently was useless because I wasn't paying attention...
Someone had a LOT of time to waste to do this... It was all along this stretch of rocks...
Now... THAT on the top is a lone tree growing on a rock. Welcome to Swash Rock...
Cool eh? Hahah... Might be an awesome view if we could just to sit on top of it. And so that concludes my bike ride. The funny thing about this ride was, after passing this rock, I made it to a beach - where people were in swimsuits and bikinis sunbathing with hotdog vendors by the side, and children running EVERWHERE. Then towards the end, there's a public pool and playground with even MORE children going bananas at Hallelujah Point. And lastly, a small part that crosses the Lost Lagoon.(Don't they have cool names for these places?) Sort of like cycling through different parts of the world within 45 minutes.

An hour well spent. Hah! Bio here I come...
