Like everywhere else that I go to, I take pictures of the sunset or sunrise or both of a certain angle that catches my eye. I wish I had a DSLR then to mess around with to get a mind-blowing picture... This time captured at Silosa Beach, Sentosa, Singapore.
July 10th
So, it was yet another random trip... this time to Singapore as I have clearly been repeating myself. We took the Aeroline bus down. We, as in, (in alphabetical order) Delaine, Irene, Linda (Irene's mom) and me - Sybil. So off we went at 8 o'clock on the morning of July the 10th.
The journey from Menara Axis, Petaling Jaya to Vivo City, Singapore took roughly about 5 hours. And since we were all so hungry, we decided to head on over for lunch at Bakerzin. Apparently, it's closed down in Malaysia and 2 certain people had "tapas" written across their forehead. Needless to say that Bakerzin was the place to go. Some pictures of the food we ordered...

We took a stroll around Vivo City. The cruise boats dock over here too for their passengers to get off and shop before heading on their journey again.
We took 2 taxis to Aunty Helen and Selina place over at Jurong West. (Irene's aunt and cousin if youre wondering who they are...)
The view from our 12th floor suite. Oooh, and since it's a pretty old apartment, there's only 3 stops when you ride the escalator. The 1st floor where everyone gets in or out of, the 6th floor and the 11th floor. We had to walk up or down only 1 floor, Thank God. Can you imagine leaving on the 3rd floor?.. It doesn't matter if you go on up to the 6th floor or not. You still have to walk up or down 3 floors. Maybe that's why there aren't many fat people in Singapore as there are in Malaysia. But then again, it may also be due to their "Fat camp" regime. Hmm....

Pretty grand, eh?
What's a holiday without having fun? So, off we went to Clarke Quay which is a lil' something like Heritage Row back in KL, with a lil difference here and there. Namely, how classy Clarke Quay is.
Clinic is one of those chill out places with a lil twist. You literally hang out at the clinic inclusive of wheelchairs, alcohol in those drip bags patients in hospitals carry around and other clinic-like stuff...
The 2 kiddos trying to manouvere the wheelchairs but FAILED. It takes practice. Hehe...
We went to Arena. Half way throughthe night, we had a band come out to sing. They were goood. Seriously. We came home about 4 and crashed! That was how our sleeping timetable was like for all 3 nights.

Strawberries covered oh-so-wholesomely with chocolate... mMmmmm

To tell you the truth, we came back to Vivo City everyday we were there.
Anyway, this No signboard Seafood place apparently started off as one of those hawker stalls along the road; therefore, there wasn't a signboard on this stall. And ever since accomplishing the life-long- dream of making it this big and even starting a chain of its kind, it's still, No Signboard Seafood. Funny yet true. Dinner was on Selina 's friend, Victor. A very expensive dinner that was. I think over $400?.. Convert that to RM and you'll see what I mean. But the thing was, there wasn't much time to take pictures of the food either...

We woke up about 11, got ready and took the bus down to the famous Orchard Road...

Underneath some cone structure thingy, I thought it looked cool behind the camera.
I think everyone in Singapore has a Crumpler because everywhere I turn, there's a dude or dudette carrying one. Either as just a normal bag or as their laptop bags. The bags are cool but maybe out of my budget now =P
You know what's a major difference between Malaysia and Singapore? Singaporeans actually DEPEND on the public transportation. There is no such thing as just buying a car there and using it. You have to go through so much shit - namely the driving test which just about everyone fails - and not to mention the amount of money you have to spend to firstly buy a car, then sky-high road taxes, and some certificate thingy worth $15, 000 just to OWN a car. So, basically, you're fcking rich to be owning a car in Singapore. But the Singapore government actually cares about its people. The transportation system is so efficient, you dont need a car.
This board thing tells us the timing of the arriving buses. And this is just in a bus STOP, not a bus station. So, just say you see the bus you want to get in is full, you can check out how long the next bus is going to be and wait or, if it's gonna take a helluva long time, you have no choice but to ram your way in.
"The Pavillion" of Singapore. The place where rich-ass people go to buy their Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Chanel and all those overly-expensive, bodyguarded-places...
You see quite a few disabled people along the streets, but none begging for money. They either sing or play an instrument or sing and play and instrument to get tips off paedestrians, mainly tourists. At least they are doing something I guess instead of just begging for money.
I hope you guys get this joke... especially the GUYS. if you don't, then youre NOT man enough! Hahaha...
There's one of these Old Chang Kee's like at every corner...
So, after walking and walking and occassionally buying stuff, we headed on home because Snow City and the rest of the agenda on our list got striked off since it was pretty late. We bought durian and mangosteens on the way home. =)
One of the neighbours grew this plant. I thought it was really prettyyy...
The clock striked 10 and we were on our 2nd night escapade and yet again at none other, Vivo City. We went to St. James' Power house this time which is supposedly where all the Singaporeans go to club now. Apparently, *in bitch mode* "Clarke Quay was like sooo yesterday"
Doesn't look like a club-looking sorta place does it? There's like 5 clubs or so in total. You pay a one time $15 cover charge to enter all the clubs there. It's all connected so we walked through the whole building. Quite a cool concept, don't you think? Just chill out in whichever club you like depending on your mood whether it's Latino, Retro, Trance, R%B, China-funk and even if none of these appetize you, just go on upstairs to sing your heart out through the karaoke box. You'll never find me there that's for sure.
Question: Do these stuff hanging on top on one of the clubs look like condoms to you?
What's a night out without some supper? All that dancing worked up a sweat okay! We deserve to enjoy the food at Ah Wok which is the only restaurant over at St. James.
July 12th
We went on this Luge ride over there. It's built like a Go-Kart but there's no engine, no throttle, no brakes. Whoops! Haha! There are brakes of course. But you have to pull up the lever to stop and let it go to go faster. Were travelling down hill so it's really fast once you let it go. LUGE UNITE!

After a stop at Coffee Bean, he went to Siloso Beach. There we met 2 lil friends: Adrian and Kiyana, at least that's how their names sound like.

Adrian. He's a 3 and a half year old Swiss boy. Adorable lil blue eyed blonde boy.
Kiyana. She's a 1 and half year old Irish kiddo that lives in Singapore now with her parents.
There is just too many things to do in Sentosa. You need more than a day there to really check things out. Compared to what you can do there, we did like nothing! On the way home after dinner, we stopped to buy durians again.
Our third night out comprised only of the 3 cikus. Hehe, we met up with Delaine's friend, John. He's a really nice dude. He works for Singapore Airlines as a Steward. He gets to travel so much Places like Paris, Adelaide, Vancouver... I have no idea how much of picture-taking and sightseeing I'll be doing if I became a stewardess. It would be fun.... with the exception of being called into the pilot's bedroom.. But jokes aside, it'd be cool...
It was retro all the way that night. Ministry of Sound is awesome. I liked that place.I have to check out the one in Sunway soon. Even the floors there were so retro looking.

I hope to come back real soon. Singapore is such a nice place. Anyone wanna take me?

July 12thWoke up about 11, took the bus down to Chinese Garden MRT station, changed trains over at Outram Park and got off at Harbour Front or something like that. We were heading towards Sentosa. Again, the train that takes us straight into Sentosa is at Vivo City.

Okay, there's a reason why I put this picture on. Singaporeans so need to chill. Everything is fcking fast. They practically push you out of the train. They walk helluva fast as you can see from above. I couldnt even take a proper picture because they walked so bloody fast. Even their escalators are so fast that before you can step on properly, you're already moving. "Take a chill pill, man..."

There are 2 new casinos coming up in Singapore. This one over here is by the Lim Goh Thong Enterprise aka the founder of Genting Highlands. It's just outside Sentosa. I hear to even enter the casinos, you have a put a deposit of $1000 chips whether youre playing or not. It's to curb those who have a gambling problem. Another funny thing I heard was that if a man's wife thinks her husband has a gambling problem, all she has to do is call the police or some specialised group like the AA or something and the casinos will be notified of his name and he'll never even have a whiff of the air within the money-whirled casino.
The train that takes us in to Sentosa has only 3 stops. We got off the first stop and we took a walk up the hill. We see the famous Merlion here.
