Lang Tengah Island

Been keeping pretty low on the blogosphere I know, but I'm back and hopefully here to stay until August that is. I was on holiday with the family for 3 days at Redang Lang Resort which is the ONLY resort on Lang Tengah Island (next to Redang Island). We left the house about 2.30 Saturday morning so we could cruise along the highway and reach the jetty by 8-ish. Might I add that the whole world was busy partying to Tiesto at Port Dickson while I had to pack up to Terrengganu. Okayyyy..Enough sobbing. There's always another time, I hope. So, we get there and have break fast here. It's like a house but a part of it is used as a restaurant - the creativity of Malaysians.

And on the way to the jetty after breakfast, we saw Bee's family. *inside family joke* because she's born in the year of the cow. Hahaha...Imagine having to stop for cows or goats in Kuala Lumpur. Hah! They'd be beef and mutton in no time...

So, here we are at the so-called jetty. I think if you jump hard enough on it, you'll fall flat into the polluted river - Yukkkk!!!!!

We parked our cars at the jetty for rm10 a day under the shaded area. If it's not shaded, it's rm 5. But knowing the sun, it's never a good idea to leave your car out in the open especially if youre staying 7-friggin-hours away from actually civilization in the concrete jungle. Hehe.

This is the boat we rode in to Lang Tengah. It practically made everyone seasick. Thank God I don't have motion sickness.
BigMama, Talon-the-Melon, and Mr.Buff-Sean

This is us before everyone else started getting seasick. Apparently, people take "assam" to not feel seasick. I don't know if it actually works but if it helps not making people vomit. By all means, take it!!!

So.... Finally, after like an hour of that boatride-from-hell, we reached our destination! Woot! Just check out the water! Would you expect this is in Malaysia, considering all we do in KL town is stare at some brown muck in the Klang "River"??
And that's the jetty..I'm serious...Half the time, when you get out, the water is already covering it. It's funny when petite-Chinese usually-girls come out and let out a short of a scream to their boyfriends to get everything while they try not to get their shoes wet. I pity the boyfriends...
Beautiful, isn't it?
Being all hiped up about the place, we got our snorkelling gear with flippers and all.
It's a waste of time using slippers, trust me...Not unless you're helluva good swimmer and has no need for the float. So, don't get so enthralled about it when they ask what gear you want. Get the float and the snorkelling goggles. That's really all you need. And, if you use the flippers, you can only walk backwards with it. You don't want to be caught looking like this...

The place all in all is pretty nice. There's a game-room that has mahjong, an un-usable foosball table: don't ask me why... There just is. And a British pool table which is in pretty bad condition as well - still usable though...There's cable too, thank God!..I watched F1 and the not-so-happening MU match. I know they won. I heard enough!!!! Bluek!

Chalets we stayed in
Most people are gathered here to eat. The food aint great but it's alright.

Pretty relaxing just sitting outside the chalet...

This was just outside the diving centre. I had to take a picture of it!

After some briefing, we were told we had to go to the Redang Marine Partk at 2p.m. after lunch. We had about an hour to chill, settle-in, explore, whatever it is before the boat would take us there. And were off...

Loads of fishes there. And colourful ones too. La-di-da for about an hour there and that was our first day. The boat-driver dude gave us fish to feed the fishes. Weird......

The second day was pretty much the same as the first. We snorkelled around the island. Haha. We went one round the island which would take only about 10 minutes most to complete. We were taken different spots to snorkel - supposedly the hotspots where fishes are at...

This is on the other side of the island. I really like the water colours here. It's just a matter of whether there are corals or not. The light blue part is only covered in sand. cool-ness...

The Fight for the Mr. Buff Title!!!!

In this corner, we have Dvooodooman...Husband to the Energizerette(in the background) and well, is unfortunately apart of the family because of that...Hahaha

Aaaannnndddddd On this corner....

He's pretty shy suddenly, so we shall just have to settle with his abs-to-be...SlayerTalonnnnn

The Reigning Champion.............. *the crowd grows quiet*

Needless to say...Mr. Buff

The fight begins...Mr. Buff seems to be giving the rookies a fighting chance. He's only allowing them to fight for the title just with his head??!!!! Amazziinngggggg....And, the rookies are out of sight. It is a wonder how he scared them. *Psst! Take a closer look at his "penis"?? and his boobs??* And you thought this world wasn't strange enough as it is...Tsk Tsk..

Famous qoutes of the holiday:

SlayerTalon: "Now, my frown has turned up-side down" - He's pretty sloshed when he says this
Dvoodooman: "PUNDEK!!!"

Okayyy....We all know my family are alcoholics - maybe not all, but some...So here's to the vodka citron which we finished and the beer and the stout and to mr. jim beam. Hehe...

Kids...Do not try this at home....
This is what happens... Hahaha..Who am I kidding? We get sloshed at home half the time.

"Ohmygowd! Mr. Buff, you need deodorant!"

It was nice while it lasted. But I'm pretty happy being back here in the concrete jungle as well.

Selamat Tinggal Pulau Lang Tengah!
